Our Provide Basic Emergency Care (P.B.E.C.) course is tailored for professionals working in high-risk or isolated environments, equipping you with essential skills to respond effectively in emergency situations. This intensive three-day course combines necessary pre-reading with two days of practical, hands-on training, and covers the NZQA Unit Standard 29321 (Level 3, 14 credits).

Key Topics Covered:

  • Advanced life support techniques, including:

    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

    • Oxygen therapy and respiratory support

    • Advanced airway management

    • Use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)

  • Comprehensive patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation

  • Safe use of emergency care equipment for patient extrication and transport

  • Strategies for maintaining rescuer well-being during and after emergency situations

  • Custom discussions on equipment and conditions specific to your workplace

  • Triage of mass casualty events.

Prerequisites: Participants must hold a current Comprehensive Workplace First Aid certificate (Unit Standards 6402, 6401, 6400) and complete a pre-course assignment.

Upon successful completion, you'll earn a certification valid for two years, giving you the confidence to provide immediate care when it matters most.
