The Foundation First Aid Certificate provides the essential skills needed to respond confidently to common medical emergencies and injuries at work, at home, and in the community.
Suitable for workplace first aiders, teachers, support staff, volunteers, coaches, parents, caregivers, and people working in low-risk environments.
You'll learn CPR, choking management, severe bleeding control, medical emergencies, burns, poisoning, and how to provide effective first aid until professional help arrives.
Choose your format:
• In-person: 8.5 hours of practical learning in one day
• Blended: Around 4 hours of online pre-learning plus 4.5 hours in person
Both options lead to the same nationally recognised qualification and meet WorkSafe New Zealand workplace first aid requirements.
NZQA Unit Standards: 6402 (Level 2, 2 credits) and 6401 (Level 2, 1 credit).
