Training people to save lives

E whakangungu ana i ngā iwi ki te whakarauora tangata

Our Commitment to You

At City First Aid, we believe first aid training should be practical, supportive, and relevant to real life.

Whether you are attending for work, family, community involvement, or professional requirements, our goal is the same: that you arrive feeling welcome and leave feeling confident and better prepared to use first aid in everyday life.

We are committed to creating learning spaces where people feel welcome, respected, and safe to learn. We recognise that every learner brings different experiences, strengths, cultures, and learning needs into the classroom.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the principles of protection, participation, and partnership, and our own Eight Paddles of Teaching (Ngā Hoe e Waru) framework, guide our teaching.

Alongside our teaching framework, our Pastoral Care Policy guides our approach to learner wellbeing, inclusion, support, and success.

What Learning With Us Looks Like

When you attend a City First Aid course, you can expect:

✅ Practical, hands-on learning

✅ Real-world scenarios and discussions

✅ Opportunities to ask questions and practise skills

✅ A respectful and inclusive learning environment

✅ Tutors who support learning rather than judge mistakes

✅ A focus on building confidence as well as competence

We understand that many people arrive feeling nervous about assessment, worried about getting things wrong, or unsure of their abilities. Our role is to support your learning while ensuring the required standards are met.
