(Previously known as Comprehensive, or Workplace First Aid or Level 2)

(NZQA Units: 6402: Level 2, Credits 2, 6401: Level 2, Credit 1, 6400: Level 3, Credit 2)

The NZ First Aid Certificate is essential for anyone who might be first on the scene of an emergency: at work, outdoors, or in the community. It’s recommended for workplaces, high-risk job sites, and recreational settings such as mountain biking, tramping, camping, or adventure sports.

If you work at heights, with electricity or chemicals, in cool stores, or out in rural or remote areas, this course prepares you to respond confidently while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

Being able to act fast and provide first aid immediately can save lives, whether it’s a colleague, a friend, or a fellow adventurer on the trail.

Choose your preferred format:

  • Traditional in-person training: 12 hours of practical learning over two days.

  • Blended first aid course: about 4 hours of online pre-learning plus 8 hours in person (one-day option).

Both options lead to a nationally recognised NZ First Aid Certificate, meeting WorkSafe and outdoor recreation safety requirements.
