 Refresher Courses

(NZQA Units: 6401 and 6402 with options for basic life support (CPR) and emergency care first aid)

This course is designed to refresh those who previously (within 2 years) completed a Comprehensive Workplace First Aid or First Aid at Work course. Those attending must be due for revalidation. Covering CPR, choking, bleeding, burns and any updates that may have occurred over the years.

(Refresher courses are run alongside full first aid courses)

  • Calling 111

  • Primary survey

  • Secondary survey

  • Care of the unconscious patient

 

Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Adult, child & infant CPR

  • Treatment for choking adult, child & infant

  • Automated external defibrillator (AED)

 

Wounds, bleeding and shock and more

  • How to stop major bleeding

  • Treatment for crush, amputation, embedded objects, teeth loss, trauma to ears, nose bleed.

  • Allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
