To foster a learning environment that recognises, respects, and values the diverse cultural backgrounds of all learners, including Māori, Pasifika, and international learners.
Policy Statement
City First Aid Training Ltd, is committed to cultural competency and inclusivity, ensuring that all learners feel respected, valued, and supported. We strive to create a culturally safe learning environment that acknowledges and celebrates diversity, recognising the unique cultural identities and needs of each learner.
Scope
This policy applies to all CFA team members, contractors, and learners involved in CFA’s training programmes.
Cultural Competency and Inclusivity Guidelines

Promoting Cultural Awareness

All instructors and staff will undergo training to enhance their understanding of cultural differences, including Te Ao Māori, Pasifika, and other international perspectives.

Māori culture, tikanga (customs), and te reo (language) are respected and integrated into learning sessions where appropriate, honouring our commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi).

Supporting Diverse Cultural Needs

CFA recognises and supports specific cultural practices, including making accommodations for prayer times, dietary needs, or any other requests associated with a learner’s cultural background.

Learners are encouraged to share any cultural requirements or preferences with instructors to ensure their learning environment feels inclusive and welcoming.

Learning materials and activities are designed to be culturally sensitive, free from bias, and reflective of diverse perspectives.
